CasaDiva.net is a growing network of women singers who practice enlightened self-interest: that is, if we are kind and collegial with one another, we will all gain in the end!

In an industry and a time where competition is expected, encouraged and fostered -- often to the point of destructiveness! -- we believe that there is room for all of us. Somewhere, there is a role, or a theater, or a teaching position, or a gig, or something, that fits the needs of each individual who brings her particular gifts to the world. The world is big enough for all of us, and for all of our unique talents. No two lyric sopranos -- for example -- look, or sound, or act, exactly alike! What may be one hiring agent's smelly nuisance in a stable may well be another's valuable fertilizer. If she doesn't get the role, her sister might -- and we will be happy for her!

In the end, we must all work together. The opera world is very small, and collegiality goes a very long way (as does its opposite -- perhaps even farther). CasaDiva.net believes in fostering a global family of colleagues; for ultimately, our collective goal is the edification of our audience!
